Post subject:  New Forum Registration?

Hi,
I tried to log in to the new Xojo forum but the details I use on this form seem to be invalid.

I then clicked on create an account, whereby, I was taken to a website and my username was pre-filled in, and I could only change my password.

Now when I visit the new Xojo forums site and try to log in with the newly changed / created password - I am shown an error message stating that no communication with the server could be obtained?

Any ideas how I actually log in?

Thanks.

It's your login on realsoftware.com and I bet they enable it tomorrow.

Greetings

The username and password that you currently use to log into your account at our website will be the same as those you use to access the Xojo Forum. You will be able to access the Xojo Forum tomorrow once Xojo has shipped.

Please feel free to email me tomorrow at custserv@xojo.com if you have any problems logging in.

Thank you.

Any idea of approximately what time (UK time) the new Xojo download will be available?
I will have no internet access most of tomorrow so was wondering when the best time to try would be.

Thanks.

Wouldn't it be sort of "nice" to include this information with the announcement, and in the forum notification, and in any other place it may ease the transition. I got the announcement from Rob, clicked on the link since there was nothing saying the new forum was not ready (only that the old one was being locked starting tomorrow), couldn't log in. Tried to register, couldn't register. The registration page is next to useless (I mean there is no registration page at all). I then sort of rembered some post which mentioned the website login credentials were the ones to use, so I used those - and I still couldn't login. And then I finally saw the new post with the same question I was going to ask. So back to my original suggestion, why wouldn't you put this "trivial", yet important piece on information as part of the communications (that is after all what the "communications" are for - :? )

Exactly like that Norman.

However, unless this basic information of how to log in is embedded on the videos or on some invisible font, it isn't mentioned anywhere in that post. It is crsytal clear what will happen to the old forum starting tomorrow. It is crystal clear where the new forum is. Where does it say how to log in to the new forum and, "oh by the way" that you have to wait 'till tomorrow to use the new forum.

Listen, I don't mean to be disrispectful in any way. This is a very well intended constructive criticism. It is not clear. If you have more than one or two people ask the same thing, it is not clear. And it is not big deal either, again I am just providing a suggestion (with no negative intention) on how to make something better. You can take it however you want, and process it however you feel.
