I'm a hobby/part-time software developer working solo.

I was just wondering what apps/online tools people are using to manage their development process.

I've heard about Basecamp, Trello and Pivotal Tracker but I was just wondering what most people here use.

Tortoise svn repository inside Boxcryptor inside Dropbox.

Works really well for me. Been doing it this way for the last few years.

Tortoise svn is completely free.
Other 2 are free up to 2 GB

I work on windows

While I'm not a hobbyist, I use TortoiseHg on BitBucket.com for projects where I work along; Git on GitHub for collaborated projects. Everything I've mentioned there is free.

Also, if you own a domain, I strongly suggest looking into Podio.com for overall organization. If you have less then 5 users its free, and the free features are exceptional. Podio is what Basecamp wishes it was. ;)

Personal:

For source code management I use bitbucket.
For project management and issue tracking I use a small program I wrote called SimplyBuggy.

Work:

For source code management we use SVN and bitbucket depending on the code base.
For project management and issue tracking we use a web based in-house developed application that is integrated into our ERP system.

For project management, I've used Basecamp, Trello and Redmine.

I haven't used Basecamp in quite a while (years), but I didn't find that it fit my workflow well.

I liked Redmine (and open-source bug-tracking and project management system) and it is included with some Subversion/Git hosting (such as SourceRepo). Or you can install it on your own server, if you're good at installing Ruby on Rails apps.

These days I primarily use Trello for project/task management. I like it how it fits nicely with most Agile processes. It also has a decent iOS app.

All good tips.

After a lot of playing around with different packages, I've settled on Bitbucket for hosting my source code and issue tracking. Am still looking for a decent project management solution. I like the look of Pancake(a self-hosted PHP app) but I'm not sure if anybody has any experience with it.
