What does the VDN option include? Does it come with the RB development kit? Its not totally clear on the website what is all included with that.SHORT ANSWER:
YES you can use V4RB -- Valentina for REALbasic as client to VServer Embedded,
as well as any other Valentina Client, because all VClients are free for use.DETAILED ANSWER:
* Up to 5.0 (i.e. 2.0 - 4.9 versions) it have included ADK for 3 OS also.
* When we have add reports into VSERVER, we have made "VDN for reports as x2 price".
* Then we have add into Valentina Reports support of other DBs (mySQL, postgreSQL and Lite), so this x2 price become not fair for report users that want to use other dbs.
This is why starting from 5.0 we have simplify product line a lots. Now exists only few main products:
VDN == VServer Embedded -- it not includes now ADKs
Important point is:
ALL Valentina Clients (connectors) are FREE.
This means that if you buy VDN -- you get in hands VServer Embedded, which you can deploy with your app unlimited number of copies.
And you can use ANY language for free. REALbasic, Licecode, PHP, ObjC, C++, NET, VB, ...
You can deploy to your user this VServer Embedded and may be 3 applications, for example:
the first made in PHP, the second in RB and the third in NET.
You can do this. You not pay for clients.
BTW, this is one more advantage of Valentina [Embedded] Server -- Many connectors.
P.S. A developer may need to purchase "DB ADK" only if he wants to work with local Valentina databases.
P.S.2. Let me remind also, that VSERVER is not DB server, but REPORT server also. If you make google, usually report servers start from $1500. And very hard to find one working on 3 OS. All this you get in VDN also.
