I'm probably going to be buying Windows 8 this week from Amazon unless someone knows of a better price?
I'm thinking the 64 bit non pro version. Windows 8 System Builder DVD 64-Bit on Amazon for $95.88 with free shipping. yay.
Are these install instructions for Mac pretty accurate or is there a better way?http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/ ... s-8-on-mac
So those install Windows on Mac directions said to have Bootcamp 4.0 or newer and I've got Bootcamp 3 running on OS X 10.6.8 snow leopard.
Bootcamp mentions something about downloading the necessary support software for Windows...
Does anyone know what support files are needed and if Bootcamp 3 will get the correct support files for Windows 8?
I thought I could just create my own Windows partition and then use the Windows 8 install DVD to install it?
Has anyone here installed Windows on it's own partition on their Mac without using Bootcamp or with using the version of Bootcamp I got?
Can you share your setup experience and instructions?
It's probably simply done but I don't want to goof it up so help would be appreciated.
*note I'm not virtualizing at this time.
Are there any hidden gotchas I should know about before I purchase Windows 8?
I'm running my '09 Intel MBP core 2 duo.
Gross. I'm going to be an owner of Windows....
