This was discussed briefly on the email NUG, but never resolved. Several people have been unable to build a Windows app with the Linux IDE. Everything appears to work, progress bars, etc. But no .exe is produced. I found one bug report - jhnbmah.

Has anyone been able to successfully build for Windows???

Can one cross-compile on Linux without a pro license? None of the other platforms allow this, I don't think... or are they just time limited?

You can, but it will run in demo mode, i.e. time limited, without a pro license.

I have a paid, pro edition and it will compile correctly for Linux, OS X and Mac OS. When I try to compile for Windows, I get the "Compiling ... " message box. I see a progress bar. It appears to complete the job. There are no error messages. But ... the file (win app) is not saved to disk.

If you start the IDE up from the command line, then you should see messages being written out to the command line -- are there any errors listed in there when you build? Also, what is the name of the .exe that you're trying to build (wondering if there are perhaps some illegal characters in it)? Finally, I'm assuming you've got proper permissions to be able to write the file out?

Hi Aaron,
Answers to your questions:
1) If I start from the console, there are no messages appearing in the console window at any time in the process.
2) I have tried with several names, but most recently it is "KPasa.exe". It works with a similar name for either Linux or Mac OS. I have tried with other names, in case it didn't like the Linux file with a similar name.
3) Yes I have permission to write to the folder. Both the Mac and Linux files are written to the same folder.

The bug report, jhcnbmah, was marked (Yesterday, I think) with something like "being reviewed".

Thank you for your time,
Don

Add me to the list. I just voted for jhcnbmah as well.

I am also experiencing the same problem. I have permission to write (Mac package and Linux binary writes okay), no error messages in the terminal, no error messages in the IDE or anywhere else.

Thanks
So far, I've asked on the NUG list, here on the forum, and in email exchanges with William Yu and with Jason, and no one has said that he has seen it work anywhere. Maybe there are just a handful of people with the pro version of Linux.

Hopefully,

Don
