Sorry for the delay. It has been a busy time for me.

Working with 2011r3 and Mint 10 Julia, I can print 300 dpi without any problem:

I can print too, but without the workaround RB won't print more than one page of a multipaged report. This issue doesn't seem to be resolved by now. My question was about that.

From the replies in this topic I understand that the Reports facility should be used as a work around. I do not use RsReports or Report Designer, as the code shows. This is the point I wanted to make as that was your first question.

Frank,

thank you for the clarification. I use the builtin report designer and this seems to be a bug there. I was questioning myself if someone has put this bug into feedback. I can't check this because the new feedback 2011r3 won't even run on my system. I openend another topic on this but got no answers. I even did install a fresh 32 bit ubuntu 11.10 to get a working feedback app. But this crashes as well. This doesn't look good to me. Not to mention the memory leaks and zombie processes of the RB IDE I get all the time while coding.

I am currently planning a really big project for linux and these things are discouraging me over and over. Linux seems to be of very low priority for Real Software and I fear the support will eventually be discontinued leaving my work already done useless...

I share your disappointment; Linux seems of low priority indeed, especially when it comes to printing. From the RB point of view I understand that Linux coders will not fill their pockets, so their main source of income has to come from Windows and Mac coders.

I also had problems with the feedback facility. I got a message that a new version was ready for download but it still does not work on my system. I did not bother looking into it further.

That said, I believe RB is still the best rad tool for cross platform development. I have been using PureBasic for some time and it has quite some advantages over RB, but also many disadvantages.

The apps I create with RB for Linux are solid and stable, and too big in size :(. Let's hope their support for Linux will continue.

Hi

I'm in trouble with printing on Linux. I use RS 2011 r4.2 and Ubuntu.
I'd like to print Din A/4 with 300dpi graphics, on windows the result is fine, but under linux the result is wrong (I only see on the printed page the quarter of the graphics).
What should I do to the good result?
Thanks

G'day;
Ran into this one myself the other day.
This looks like a bug that crept into RS 2011R4.
There is probably a more elegant solution to this, but I dropped back to RS 2011R3.
This has resolved the issue for me.

Best,
WBG
