Using 2008r4.1 on Ubuntu 8.04:

It's easy to add contextual menus to the RB Editfield and display them:

Base.Append mnuBold
Base.Append mnuColor
Base.Append mnuCapitalize
...

Return True //display the menu

However, I'm finding that the application (after a right-click on the Editfield) displays my customized contextual menu and then subsequently fires the default Ubuntu contextual menus. In other words, a right click results in TWO different sets of contextual menus presented to the user.

Is there any way to turn off the built-in menus or append to them instead?

Have you tried
Return True
in your menu handler?

Yes sir, all the menu handlers have Return True.

These contextual menu actions are all handled by Window-level menu handlers, if that's useful information.

Another snippet of information that might be useful as that the process is working fine on OS X and Windows.

No, I just turned off my own contextual menus on Linux and used the built-in menus.

Something like this in the Editfield.ConstructContextualMenu event:

If TargetLinux = True Then
Return False
Else
.
.
[build menus in the normal way on other platforms.
.
.
Return True

End If
