So my story starts this way....

I was developing my program to work in Windoze, Bigmac and Linux
when lo and behold I found ......
This works in Windows an Mac..But NOT in linux (opensuse 10.3) RB2008

dim f as folderitem
dim textinput as textinputStream
dim rowfromfile as string

f=GetFolderItem("DBClient.txt") // this must be in the same folder as exe

if f.exists then
textinput=f.openastextfile
Do
rowfromfile=textinput.readline
if rowfromfile>"" then
OpenIni.ListBox1 addrow rowfromfile
end
Loop Until textinput.EOF
textinput.close
end

My brain is jello so i am sure it is something simple I am missing. Any Thoughts ? :D

Try changing the above to:
if rowfromfile <> "" then

What happens differently when it doesn't work?

If f.Exists fails, could it be due to case sensitive file names?
