Ok so i have the 2008r1 RealBasic Version on Ubuntu only machine (Gutsy7.10) and has another post already here, the program is very slow and hangs for periods of a few seconds.
Besides this my problem is that i got this RealBasic Book from my local library, and im following a tutorial to create the Web style book Shop browser (yes i do have Mozilla installed, lol...).
I do everything as per the exercise, yet Realbasic does not Run the app, also when i build it, the app will not open.
I also downloaded the Demo for the Mac and the exactly same exercise runs and builds without any problem.
Any advice?

Hi,
One place to start is to try to run the compiled app from a terminal window. This way, you will probably get an error message that may help you track down something. Often it is missing libraries.
In the terminal window, use cd to navegate to the directory where the app is and then type "./" plus the name of the application.

/home/ruim/.themes/c2/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:54: Clearlooks configuration option "sunkenmenu" is not supported and will be ignored.
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

And thats all.
I checked that i have the gtkhtml in the Synaptics Package Manager and its present there are a few also.

Hi,
Just a shot in the dark here, but is that "sunkenmenu" a theme that you have chosen for the desktop? If it is, would it be practical to try changing it to some more common theme like kde_classic to see if that is the cause of the problem?

Make sure you have all the required GTK/Gnome stuff. Also, if you have it installed, you might see if switching completely to Gnome solves anything.

Thanks for the help guys.
Ok tried the program under the native Ubuntu *Human* interface looks and still no go.
Will have a look at what you mean by all the Gnome stuff.
Thought im pretty shure that its all there, co's i also use a lot of other packages and remember having to get a load of xtra GTK-Gnome packages.
Just to double check, any specific one in question?
Also does Real have a list/guideline for all the required packages to run in linux? I ask so that i can double check all that may be needed.
Many thanks again.

There is a list of the system requirements. iirc, most of the issues would come out and say so in the terminal
