I was wondering the same thing. I just downloaded the rpm version and found a program that would unpack it. Then I just moved the folder to an appropriate location. It is almost the same as using the tgz file except you need to use a different program to unpack it.

Hi atomclock,
What did you use to unpack it?

Will it work to unpack a deb version also?

Also, I noticed that if you download the complete package, it is 63.5MB while the individual parts are 78.6. How do they do that?

DJ

Sounds like we're being corralled into distros that only support rpm or deb. What if my distro supports RB just fine but doesn't have native support for rpm or deb?

REAL just seems to be giving people more reasons not to use REALbasic. :?

I hear ya Corbin

If REAL can take the time to create deb and rpm packages....
Ummm....why cant they take 2 minutes to gunzip it?

I want the authority to unpack RB and put it where I see fit on my distro
which is "not supported" BUT is 100% binary compatible with a "oficially" supported distro.

This is a sad RB time for me :-(
