Has this been resolved?

I am the same as Kastorff, where the Language reference works but the pdf files don't.

Im running CentOS 4.2 and have followed all the advice from here but could never get
RB to display the Language ref or any of the pdf's to display from the IDE
I installed RB from the tarball so that was pretty straight forward ....if I try and run the language refernece from the ide all I get is a fatal error ....if I run it manually from the rb folder it runs fine.

Any one else got the language reference running from the ide under a RHEL distro??

Maybe im still missing something simple but tried everything mentioned here...

Any help appreciated :-)

Finally got the Lang Ref in the IDE to work and the HTML Viewer :-)
Still cant get the pdf's to work in the IDE but that why I bought the printed manuals.

Took a week and alot of hair pulling but I learned alot along the way trying to resolve my issue.

RB is working very nice on my linux machine

-CentOS 4.2
-Intel P4 1.4
-512 MB Rdram

i just bought the cd. it ONLY has the tar version of RB linux on it. the RedHad and Novell rpms are not on that cd.

IN ADDITION, none of the pdf files except for the quick start guide are on it.

i run NOVELL and i need the rpms. i got the pdf files and examples off the windoze version.

this is serious

i live up near yosemite national park in a very rural area. it has a terrible internet connection. only one ISP who says 'tough' if you don't like go somewhere else.

that is why i paid for a CD. so...

Unlikely there is only one ISP there. I am a ISP and may have access numbers, there or within local calling, and could find out if i knew your areacode. I do know i have 2 access numbers in yosemite as well a many others in the 209 areacode.

But let me guess, your not looking for dialup. You want highspeed. That may not be easy to find in a very rural area.

sorry, i live near yosemite. my area code is 209 and my phone number starts with 377. the area of mount bullion, bear valley, cathey's valley, and hornitos are served by TDS, so there is only the TDS service at 10 cents per minute or Elite.net.

this has become a major problem. we are located near the new university of california campus located in merced. some of the professors have spend thousands of dollars on satellite connections.

i would love to have a plain ole 56k line which is what i pay for. but connect speed is never more that 24Kbps and throughput is acctually about 2.4Kbps.

i can sit and watch the data rate as displayed by the program Kinternet.

that is why i need the Novell rpm on the distribution cd. i have tried talking to customer service and to tech support and i have gotten nothing. and yet Novell and Red Hat are displayed as major business partners with RS.

what i get is that all three distros are the same. HOWEVER, i would never install a program on windoze that did not use an installer. i want a distribution that follows the guidelines of Novell and can be installed by their installer YAST.

THAT IS WHY I PAID CASH FOR THE CD!!!

i know also find out that there is not a 'printer setup' function for the linux version. i do not believe that they have any linux qualified staff. i have signed on with Novell as a linux developer so i will work on that issue from there.

i like the RB product and expect to buy the full package in the spring for developement of commercial accounting systems.

my first program (FORTRAN) first ran in 1963. my first BASIC program followed as well as hundreds of programs. my accounting systems have managed millions of dollars.
