Realizing this is semi-premature (since the feature was supposed to be in 2005-3, but has been delayed), but a thought on the ability to have apps auto-detect language and localize themselves by setting constants appropriately. Will it still be an option to build the app without this feature (i.e. hard-coding one language per build)? There are two reasons I can see for desiring this:
(1) As pointed out on the NUG mailing list recently, someone might well wish to have some apps run in a different language from others.
(2) Pre-X versions of the Mac OS can't (as far as I know) handle that system.

For #1, the user is faced with this with every OS X app that's already localized. There are free utilities that will remove language localizations for the user.

For #2, you're correct. It will only work on OS X for now. On OS 9, the default values will be used.

As for #1, the post was actually talking about a Windows app (iTunes, to be exact), which tries to emulate the Mac's dynamic localization within Windows and doesn't quite get there.

On #2, I would urge you to keep at least enough manual control that I can build multiple versions for OS 9 (perhaps also an issue under non-NT-based Windowses?) in different languages, as I can in the current version.
