Jeez, just imagine how utterly miserable this guys life is, that he would waste so much of his time (not counting ours) on this. It is truely pathetic.

Time to ban by IP. If anyone can do it, I have faith Aaron can!

Or simply make it to where you have to use your serial number to create a forum account. That way the serial number can be blocked out no matter which machine the user logs in from.

You know Icon would just move to another machine if Aaron blocks the IP.

It might be time for a restraining order if he pursues it that far, it falls into the realm of mental illness.

Firstly, a disclaimer: I don't know Dim, or support Dim or agree with Dim.

But I can't find the colour pallette either! Obviously you can bring it up by clicking on a swatch in the properties pane of a control. But can you open it so that it's available when you're coding?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok guys, bring it back on-topic please.

The color palette was removed from RB2005, however there are requests to bring it back (and some work has been done in this area for a future release).

Thanks Aaron. I thought I was going loopy - I spent a good 15 minutes or so going through every menu and trying all sorts of key combinations!

I can't help but laugh that dim was quite possibly the only civilized person here other than Aaron and ministerofsuave.

Well I for one AM sorry for being a bit of an arse over it but really I think most of us had been pushed to the limit.

Now, back on topic: Aaron, not knowing the way the IDE is constructed, would it be possible to have the code editor do something like the following:

1) if the user types &c an ... icon is displayed inline in the code
2) if the user clicks the ..., it would bring up the system color picker defaulted to what ever color specified if any (example: &cFF0000... red would be the default)

I know this is a feature request, I was just wondering if it would be workably feasible within the IDE?

Or you could just add a menu item to pull up the system color picker and insert the results at the current cursor position in the code editor.

It's entirely possible that there may be a contextual menu that lets you insert a color from the system's color picker in a future version of the product (though don't expect to see it in r4). As for displaying a swatch, that's less likely, but still possible. The thing we try to avoid is making the constant color the same as the actual color. Imagine &cFFFFFF for a moment (or any of the colors near white).

I don't think I was clear enough, I wasn't suggesting that the text change color to the value of the &c. What I was suggesting is something more like the way colors act in the property editor.

However, you did get me thinking, what if you drew a little swatch just past the &cFFFFFF in the color bordered in black for example
