How can I check if my application already runs, to avoid the user start it a second time?

Search the forums, you'll run across this question many times. The answer is, use a Mutex.

Aaron, is there any chance we'll see a 'convenience class' that basically does the same thing as VB 6's App.PreviousInstance someday?

Using the Mutex class isn't that hard once you do it a couple of times, but a lot of people from the VB 6 world are used to the quick and easy App.PreviousInstance.

Certainly, assuming it gets requested (which I don't think I've ever seen before). It's a reasonable request.

Thanks norm...as part the RSDS library I wrote a small tool to go through all the forums picking out code, downloads, and links... This was one reported dead by the app and a copy from the "way back machine" has been substituted. Im attempting to match resources to their creators with location (urls) or creators' contact information....attempting to archive "everything" REALbasic is quite tedious ;-p...and so much of it has disappeared through the course of time..thus why I started the RSDS preservation project and code cloud :-)
