Hello all,
I have written an Application, almost 400 pages long.
I use Realstudio 2012 Release 1.2 (did not want to adjust to newer version) OS is Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
Since some weeks ago I receive a program crash that can not be traced and it is always in

ntdll.dll (CXX0017: Error: Symbol "this" not found)
(a "symbol not found error" happens normally afaik when a jump in the code is too far to be executed - this looks like an error of ntdll.dll
This error happens on almost every XP-PC! You can surely find "something" about that error in the internet, but with no solution for realbasic)

This DLL is called by "RBGUIFramework.dll" the realbasic-DLL.
(Does this "RBGUIFramework.dll" call ntdll.dll with illegal parameters?)

This error is raised after few minutes after start - sometimes the program ran for longer than one day until it crashed.

The code of my program shows no error. Debugmode shows no error...

I have done everything. I even have written a control that shows me what the last called method was. The program has always done a different piece of code when it crashes.

And YES, I have tested and even changed the RAM on the PC. (but it crashes on other XP systems with different setups.)

With WIN7 I had no probelms (yet)!

Thank you for any help!!

Wolfgang

Maybe you call some declare which is wrong?

Greetings
Christian

Thank you for your fast answer!

During my searches I had removed my declares for testing - same result. But may be I have overlooked one... will test again..
Maybe this will lead to a solution....

well, at least you could add some logging or do step by step debugging to find the line which causes the problem.

Greetings
Christian

Hello Christian,

I really found one suspect! Programm is now running... time will tell...
More when program crashes or if that was it... (then silly me! ;-)

That was nothing! Bombed again a minute ago!

No Declares used!
No Debug-info!
Windows just tells that myProg has made ntdll.dll crash at 7c910cae with the reason:
CXX0017 Error: Sybol "this" not found...and I can see that "RBGUIFramework.dll" has called ntdll.dll..

No chance to find out why!

The Problem remains!
