I had a request from a client asking if it's possible to take an existing Windows app made with Real Studio and get it into the Windows App Store.

Does anyone have any details/comments on this?

Thanks!

From what I understand, the Windows App Store only offers Windows 8 Modern UI (aka Metro) style apps which can work on the Windows RT platform. Xojo aka RealStudio creates Win32 apps so they are not going to be accepted.

Correct, a program created with RealStudio will not be accepted.

Depending on the project, you can download the free Microsoft VS 2012 express for creating windows 8 apps

Thanks for the feedback! I know that client won't like the answer but that's okay.

I would not be so sure. EssentialPIM (essentialpim.com) is a win32 app and is present in the Windows store.

yes be so sure :D

If it is sold through the Windows app store then it is WinRT not Win32
yes it could run on Intel or ARM processor, but it is still a WinRT application.

You can have Win32 apps in Windows App Store, but your developer account has to be for a Company and not a single developer, like most have.
