Post subject:  Windows Store - "Trusted" Developer thingy...

I spend 99% of my time inside the Mac universe but I'm interested in learning more about the upcoming Windows 8 Store and things like Windows Trusted Publisher. On the Mac side of things, everyone seems to be either already on the Mac App Store or scrambling to get there. I feel like I haven't felt the same kind of ferver on the Windows side of things, so I'm curious to hear from anyone that is a Trusted Publisher, and/or has begin or plans to begin targeting the Windows 8 Store.

I'd like to know what the general process is, fees, what are the expectations and requirements Microsoft sets for you and your apps, etc...

Thanks!

These posts have some information:

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/windowsstore/ar ... store.aspx

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... 94058.aspx

http://www.theverge.com/microsoft/2012/ ... -windows-8

Cost is going to be $49/year.

Right now they are only accepting submissions of free Metro apps. Desktop apps cannot be submitted and I have no idea when that will change.

Quote:
b. Desktop App Submission. You may not submit desktop apps to the pre-release version of the Windows Store. Desktop apps are any apps built using APIs other than the APIs for Metro style apps that run on Windows 8.
