I take the opportunity to repost the problem with one of my programs using an other title. The program runs 24 hours a day and the involved windows more or less freeze once every 24- 48 hours. But as I found out after a reply on this forum is that the CPU fills up to 100 % when the windows do not react anymore. The strange thing is that my application then takes up only 35 %, the other part is consumed by Explorer.exe and other running programs. When I kill my application the CPU use immediately changes to 95 % idle ... Does anyone knows what is happening, and better: has a solution for it ?

The code is developed and compiled on Macintosh and runs under Windows Server Standard (2007, service pack 2) but the problem also pops up running it all on Windows XP. Compiling on Windows REAL basic did not make a difference.

It seems to be related to postgres databases calls, in debug mode it hangs at an sql select or execute statement. It does not make a difference where the database is running: locally or on a remote server.

What more information could help ?
