Windows bugs:

(1) Build window hangs after building and must be forced to quit with Task Manager:
(2) Status line at the bottom of the debugger is cut off about halfway. (it's been this way for a long time guys!)
(3) "Find All" *does not find all!*
(4) If more than one project is open in the IDE, Find All switches out of the current project to another project!
(5) When adding a new method, if I happen to click on the name method field, I can't type into it;
double clicking doesn't work; I first have to click outside the name method field and then
click back on the name method field in order to type a name for the method.

Again, I would like to submit these as bug reports, but Feedback will not let me do it, so I'm posting them here.

Version 2009r5.1 is out and I believe it fixes most if not all of those bugs.

Do you have any proof? The only release note I can find are here, and none of these things are listed:
http://realsoftware.cachefly.net/REALba ... Notes.html

And some of these problems are not Windows specific. "Find All" doesn't find all on Mac either, and the method name field has the same weird behavior.

So nobody can verify if these bugs are fixed in the current version?

Add to the list that the IDE is extremely slow updating when there are a lot of controls in a window. A window with 70 controls takes a full 6 seconds to update if I do anything to the window - resize a control, change a property, etc.

Thanks.

Ive seen that only where there is a compiler directive around some code.
eg
#if targetMacos then

dim wibble as integer

#endif

..wont find 'wibble' while you are building for Windows.
This is a problem because the code analyser will happily report a variable as unused, whereas it isn't.

I just posted it over on the General forum:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=31729

I have about 20 instances of a certain text within checkbox Action events, which also appears in a window method. RB only finds the window methods. It missed all the event code. But occasionally it does return a match from within an event. And yes I do have the find options set to search the entire project.

Aaron, you could download the latest release and test for yourself. This scenario here is exactly why Feedback requires you use the latest release. 2009r4 is done, we're not releasing any point updates to it, so we don't want any bug reports for it. If the latest release still contains the bugs in question, you can then report it. We simply don't have the man power to do that for you.

OK, thank you Thom. The report linked by Steve Garman in the other forum appears to be exactly what I'm seeing with Find All ... and now I see why this did not appear for me when I did a search for "find all" in Feedback, because it is called "Find in project".

In my previous experience, downloading the newer version locks me into either buying it or dealing with file linking headaches. This is why I was asking if the bugs have been fixed before I buy it. Try before you buy is fine for new users, but it doesn't really work very well for existing users unless you have a clean machine to download and install onto.

Cheers,
Aaron

P.S. r5 was released just a couple of weeks after I bought r4 as an upgrade that had no renewal option. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that upgrades should carry a renewal, even if it would be only a month or so.
