i'm looking for help/suggestions/examples/documentation on how to include 3rd party dynamic libraries in my plugin.

i have a working plugin that i need to send to someone for testing. everything works great via xcode. i can build, deploy and create test applications with RS 2011r4 without any issue. the problem is that the dylibs that i'm linking against are not included in the RB test program's application bundle.

i've experimented with adding the libraries to my rbx file in parallel with my plugin's .dylib to no avail. i'm pretty well versed in using xcode 4 and building applications for osx, but this is the first dynamic library that i've tried to build. the forums have been a great source of info overall, but i can't seem to find a solution on this particular issue.

if anyone can shed light on how to do this, please let me know. thanks in advance!!

You have to add those extra dylibs yourself.

or better get them as static libs and link them into your dylib.

hmmmmmm.. thx Christian. i was afraid you'd say that!

it looks like static libraries are out as an option, the dylib also calls other dylibs. i could distribute my plugin with an installer that would add all of the requisite files to local filesystem in the appropriate places. i think that would fix my plugin distribution and build problems within RS.

does anyone know if there is a mechanism in place for Real Studio to copy non-plugin dylibs into the final compiled RS product?

Use a build step.
