Post subject:  Help with putting a character on screen to narrate a story

Hello, hope i am in the proper forum. I am making a program for Windows and I want a cartoonish character of a person to stand in front of my jpeg castle background and narrate a story. If his mouth moves, great, but if not i just need a clean character I can slip on top of the photo (shaped like a body, not in a rectangular cutout).... I don't normally do graphics or games, so anybody that can at least point me in the right direction, please help. Thanks!!

nevermind, got it figured out. Made a transparent character PNG file in GIMP photo editor, drug onto my app and put it into a canvas on top of my window and the transparent photo just sits on the window like it is floating around with no border or background colors to ruin my image on the window. So now i can hide, unhide and even change from oner character to another......just thought i'd post this info in case anyone else needs the same kind of info.

Its not so much in favour now, but you should look up the docs for Microsoft Agent. It does all that and text to speech too.
