I know, I know, there are a gabillion pong like projects, but it's still a challenging thing to program, right? I've got a few laying around, so I thought I would update a few and share them via my blog. They are really not complete games ( I might have time to complete a game), but core classes that you could possibly use for simulation type games using physics and AI.

See my signature. Thank you!

My second pong project adds walls to bounce off of and a ball class able to feel it's way around the playing field.

See my blog link for the project. Thank you.

I was actually just thinking of making a network pong game... for no other reason than the experience.

I'd like to run your project, but unfortunately I don't have the tink.aiff file on my machine... Is there any issue with including this sound as part of the project?

Thanks! :)

P.S. I commented out the Tink.Play code and removed the sound. So it does run. But the entire screen flickers like crazy. Are you manually trying to double-buffer or leaving it up to the system?

I'll add the sound, sorry, I thought I included it in the download.

Unfortunately, I use a Mac, so that's why the flickering. I'll have to leave it to the pc people to enlighten me on how to eliminate the flickering.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not really sure why, but the download does include the sound file. And when I compile for Windows, 2011R3 Personal edition, boot in to Boot Camp via Vista, the sound file is not included in the executable and I get an nil object exception. Kind of weird, but I don't program for Windows. Anyway, I removed the sound call and replaced it with a call to Beep(), and I sorted out the flickering on the Windows side. So, if you're on a PC, scroll to the latest post on the blog and grab an updated project.
