Post subject:  Replacement for SpriteSurface

I am using RB 2006v3 (I know, I should upgrade, but I can't afford it right now) to develop some games. At the moment, I am using the SpriteSurface class which is fine for my current projects, but may be too limiting for future ones.
Is there a replacement that will work with RB2006v3? Or should I make do with what I've got until I can upgrade and therefore get SuperSpriteSurface?

You should try out RBGL sprites: http://www.charcoaldesign.co.uk/rbglsprites (I know it works with rb2007, not sure about 2006)
Its super easy to translate from the normal SpriteSurface and has all the benefits of OpenGL.

In fact I probably would have used it for my project, had I known about it before udevgames began.

Thanks for the tip.
I just tried out RBGLSprites, unfortunately, some of teh functions return structures, something that RB2006 doesn't allow. When I have some free time, I may go through it and see if I can downgrade the library to my version of RB, but at the moment, I don't have the time.

Fortunately, I am concentrating on retro remakes at the moment, so I can get away with, not only aliased graphics, but quite blocky graphics too.

My current project can be found on my blog: http://krazypengwin.livejournal.com
