I'm using RB 5.5 with mySql database. This works perfectly. There is just one problem. When I start the application it connects, gets the data ... When I read a recordset every once in awhile it is all OK, but when I let the application sleep for awhile it returns nil object exception by reading next recordset. I've tryed to use the if database.connect() statement, but it doesen't help either. What can I do else to remain the connection to the database?
Thanks

I would suggest setting a timer which periodically performs a "dummy" query to keep the connection alive. Another option would be to change the timeout on the MySQL server so that it doesn't disconnect you "too soon". Otherwise, the app needs to know if it has woken up from sleep, perform a disconnect, and then reconnect to the server. Essentially, the server has hung up on you and RB doesn't know it.

Where can I get a good mysql plugin? I got one, but it only returns 10 records.
I don't know what the problem is.

Do you have REALbasic Professional Edition? If you have Standard then connecting to an external database engine such as MySQL is limited to 10 records. The Professional edition does not have any type of limit like this.

Any ideas?
