I have RB 5.5.5 and am making a program that has to deal with a huge (130+) entries per record. There wouldn't be many records, but I am concerned that the "New" REALDatabase format won't be able to handle it.

I also would like to know how the built program finds the external database. Is it found relitive to the program, like in the same folder/subfolder or from a specific place?

It doesn't find it, you tell it which file is your database file, as folderitem.

The 5.5 database is much better than the 5.0 database which crashed if you have more than 25 columns. I've never had a database with that many columns in rb, however if it doesn't work for you then just spread the data out over a couple of tables, it's only one more line of code per table :)

The built app finds the database on it's own on my computer, but when I tried to send it to a few people to look at, it worked fine for one and didn't work for another. I am using datacontrol and have the database's columns edited in RB as in File>Add Data Source>New (or Select) REAL Database. I guess I could have it find the database with a folderitem at load and tie stuff together, but I would like to avoid that.

It's good to know that it won't crash after 30 columns. It curretly works OK with 130 columns, but I need to add about 70 more probably. It is rediculus, but all that data is necessary for my project.
