Hi people, I'm new to realbasic.
I have purchased a license of the new release of RB, I have found a couple of examples on the internet but unusable examples.
I'm in need of a good database example code/project, i need to know what best approche is and how to connect the database to a form.
I want to develop for a windows platform.
can anyone help?

I'm afraid you're going to have to get more specific. REALbasic has it's own database engine, but can also connect to quite a few others. If you are simply looking to store data in your application, the built in database should work fine, and the REALbasic documentation covers it enough to get you started. If you are looking for a bigger, better solution with full multi-user ability, you'll want a different database, such as MySQL. REALbasic Professional will allow you to connect using the database plugins. Can you be more specific in what you want to do?

No I want to start with simple database, so the native database is fine.
I have a windows with two fields with a data control with the database and table name property set.
I want to create a maintenance (small) application for just one table. If you say that the realbasic documentation covers this well enough, then why can't find it. I'm an IT person, have programmed many database applications on AS/400 system and have programmed a small number database application with VB.
What I need is a header start so that I learn to develop with RB the correct way.

I would suggest looking at the following in the Language Reference:

REALDatabase, REALSQLDatabase, DatabaseRecord, and RecordSet

Since you have database experience, I would suspect you can piece together the examples under these topics and figure it out.

Good luck.
