Post subject:  WebSockets desactivated ?

I was searching for a long time why websockets wasn't used in my application.
I've red that 2012 R2 should support it with compatible browsers but it never happened.

In fact, the following code in framework.js this code always set websocket to false :
if(false && !!window.WebSocket && RS.mode == 1) {

Does someone knows about this ?

Thanks

Valery

I think WebSockets is only available in Standalone builds, not CGI if that's what you're using :)

Of course, all my tests were done in standalone deployment (not CGI).
I confirm that websockets are never (and can't be) used at this point with 2012 R2.1

Hmm, are you sure?
The line from framework.js you posted above can't be found in framework.js on a built app?

Unfortunatly, I'm sure :(
The framework.js is taken from the browser debugger and the "if false" is disabling WebSockets forever.

WebSockets were having problems with 2011, so RS disabled them in 2012. The release notes for 2012r1 state that they were supposed to be re-enabled in 2012r2, but it doesn't look like that happened.
