hi all,

I love the idea of realbasic web edition but I have some troubles getting the styling right.

To start out simple I tried duplication a simple site as shown on: http://www.willempedia.nl/example/

I like to get the separator bar with a basic <HR>, webseparator function in the GUI. I can't find where to do a style to a webseparator..... anyone ? I can't imagine it's not there....

---

another thing is that in the text style there is a custom style: "font-variant: small-caps;"
I don't see this in the style css of realbasic. How can I add additional css like this ?

---

I guess many questions will come next while figuring out how RB-WEB works. BTW I found it frustrating that elements don't look the same in the result webpage as in the RB app. I hoped RB figured a way out making it look similar, but I guess not yet.

Thanks for all the help !

The Web Edition was not intended to be a tool for designing web pages. While it can be done, it can be a frustrating experience because that is not the intended use of the tool. The WE is useful for creating web apps which run on the web server. Search for other posts in this Forum for more explanation.

You could probably do this using a WebContainer. Put the text part inside the container, Create a style that has top and bottom borders that are light grey (you'll need to create left and right borders and set them to "None") and apply it to the WebContainer.

Thanks, that does work !

And for the text css. maybe a future function could be at CSS - Style - Miscellaneous - "Add custom"
That would solve all the custom css request at once, maybe bridging functionality with style :D

But so far thanks, I will continue further...
