This is great...I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow. Thank you for all your effort and sharing this with the community!

You are all welcome. The reason I ask if you all want to know how to do certain things with the data received or access particular features or manipulate certain items..is that the number of things you can do with it are almost limitless..and would like to provide some sort of barebones template for demonstration rather than throw a zip package together with a bunch of Classes and say "you're on your own"...I could never do that :-)

I'm developing a new web edition class using the websdk, so if you get a 404 error attempting to download, please be patient for the new update..the new web edition is much faster as it does not use httpsockets to connect to Facebook..rather directly uses the Facebook JavaScript API. The desktop version of the classes still utilizes sockets as this is the only possible method for desktop apps. I've decided to change the web edition approach to keep CPU utilization down for webapps and allow transactions to occur client-side primarily, also reducing any possibly security risks which could occur. Thanks for your patience.

Hiya

I was having a hunt around and see that the FB Demo link is 404ing.

Any chance I could have a look at the example?

Thanks!

My apology...everything is being migrated to the new library system so some items aren't showing in the site downloads. I will make another temporary public download available soon as I get a moment this evening. :-)

I have posted the demo app here

http://xojodevspot.com/FacebookAPI-demo.rbp.

It will remain at this location temporarily...at which point, the new API version 2.0 will be added to the public library of the XDS Library :-)

If you have questions feel free to ask. The demo is a bit confusing... use the login first...then explore the button options at the bottom once you have been authenticated. If you get a "field error", that simply means the field you requested isn't available for that item...clear the field box entirely and you'll see all content fields for an item. Some options are obviously "Self user" only (ie inbox/outbox, etc)

Apologies on the delay, I've been busy working as well as developing a handful of community projects and newer apis:

OpenCV API (Computer Vision Recognition API's), Voice Recognition API, OCR classes, SimScript Plugin Interface (load Xojo code & GUI's dynamically at runtime)..(great for plugins, patches, etc), WolframAlpha API, the Xojo Developer's Code Library, and a few other 'secret' projects ;-)

So that people can use his classes w/o stealing/using his work? Regardless, appreciate the post Simulanics. Don't let people like ^ discourage you from helping the masses.

 Hardly stealing seeing as Simulanics has posted the demo to the general forum public.

I just don't see the point posting an app with protected classes just makes it almost impossible for anyone else to make code amendments, enhancements and contribute further.
