Thank you Chris.
Hello Chris,

I appreciate the detailed response!

As I wrote, linux is new to me, but more so is the server/Linux/command Line environment. Probably some of the major points that keep windoz guys out of the game. To my amazement, after only a day, I was able to get the ubuntu server running with an ISPConfig instance running & accessible.

While what I have been doing is practice, so failure, although not fun, is quite expected and should yield a good learning experience, as you wrote, developing the app is only 1/2, or maybe even less, than the total effort required.

Thank you again for the detailed response. I'll review your post and the video again. So long as the appliance is secure and fully featured, most certainly it would be the way to go.

Update to all interested...

TurnkeyLinux have released version 12.0 of their appliances which is now based on debian 6.
There are enough differences in this alone to warrant a remix of the video.
I will be posting the link here soon.
This time I will make it a youtube vid and it will be less than 10 mins.

It is so easy you will be surprised!

Here is my very quick and dirty example.

I really do not elaborate on anything and I have not even double checked anything (ie I have not even watched it).

When time permits I will do a more professional one.

Hope this gets some people going. Once you master this you can get it going in the real world!
