I've successfully got my app running on a VPS server I'm trying out.
It's a 64-bit Linux Ubuntu System so the only thing I had to do was to install some 32-bit libs.

VPS specs:
OS: Linux Ubuntu
CPU: 2xIntel Xeon E5540 2.53Ghz
RAM: 1GB
Storage: 15GB
Connection: 100Mbit/sec

Here are the steps to follow if you were to get a VPS from strongbox.se
1. Install 32-bit libs
apt-get install ia32-libs

2. Restart your VPS
reboot

3. Upload your app directory to:
/usr/lib/cgi-bin/

4. Chmod your uploaded app directory.
chmod 755 -R /usr/lib/cgi-bin/APPFOLDER/

config.cfg does not have to be 755. I think 644 is enough?

Access your app and all should be running great! :)

PS.
I've not done much testing yet, I just got it to work. I'll report any issue if they occur.

Yep, seems so. My FTP client copies the permissions like RB creates them, it's 644, and I have no issues with it (afaik  ).

You may also have to chown the app dir. to the apache user.
chown www-data:www-data -R /usr/lib/cgi-bin/APPFOLDER/
