Ok, so I finally got around to create the menu that made me swear so much at the alpha implementation (or lack thereof) for Carbon applications. You can look it up and download it here:
http://www.magicforreal.com/home/what-s-on-the-menu/

This screenshot shows it with some basic settings:

Looks pretty good, but that is actually called a source list, not a menu bar (the menu bar is at the top of the screen)..

Thanks, I did not know that. Changed the topic title accordingly.

I can't get your example to run, a lot of errors :/
Looks like a good job but I can't try it ;)

Strange, could you tell me what properties it says it misses? Maybe it has to do with the files I imported to the project?
It might also be it has to do with some specific properties from RB 2011 R4.3. If you give me the warnings I will try to replicate them.

6 bitmaps and a text file (colours?) are reported missing when you open the bare rbp file.

If this works in WE apps, I would be super happy :)

Ah, I see, the files are not in the binary but just point to my hard drive (an OCZ SSD named SSD...). This I can fix, but not sure yet about the best method for that. I do want all files inside the project.
The other parts have to do with alpha support which is not available in 2011R3. I will make a separate version for it without the alpha.

I personally do not have WE, so maybe you could test it once I fixed the foregoing issues? I will probably post an updated version somewhere in the afternoon and link to it here on the message board.

Does it use canvas controls? WE doesn't have those. It has picture objects and such but not the Canvas as you know it :/

It is based on a canvas, so that would be a problem for WE. However, maybe you can transfer the logic to a webcomponent as it works by drawing pictures. I have no idea if this is possible though, as there might also be problems with events.
Writing a similar source list in html/javascript is quite easy (actually a lot easier than my class). But as for WE I really have no idea.

Sorry for my late reply, I got distracted, but I now have a version for Real Studio 2011 R3 as well. Also I included the files in the zip file and pulled them outside of the rbp. Actually this is a much neater solution as long as we don't run into directory problems ;)
You may download the latest version here:

You could create a canvas in WE and put .Backdrop into a webimageview (webimageview.image=new webpicture(canvas.backdrop))
