http://products.supertwist.net/catalog/vlcplugin/

just finished (is anything ever actually finished??) my first plugin for Real Studio!!

VLCPlugin is a Mac/Windows wrapper for the LibVLC 2.0 library and provides a video playback control for displaying anything that VLC is equipped to decode. the plugin is Windows and Mac OSX compatible and supports both Cocoa and Carbon. the control loads the VLC library dynamically at runtime and has been tested against the current VLC 2.0.1 version.

i would love to get some feedback on features/usability/issues on the current release!
thanks for taking a look...

Great. I also have one here, but waited for libVLC go to LGPL. Is that move done now?

Greetings

At first, the change will affect the VLC engine, also known as libVLC, allowing applications or plugins based on the VLC engine to be built under non-GPL licenses. The libVLC bindings for other languages are also concerned.

A few things:
-Quick manual
-Sample Project
-Subtitle support
-Actual instructions for getting libvlc and setting it up (in your dev machine and your project for different platforms)

A reconsideration on the price (at least until the above is addressed).

I'm extremely interested, by the way. But it was like hitting a wall. Not even online help within RB. I guess so much is required from the user to begin with that he may have already looked for an option.

Christian: Is this out? This might very well be the first MBS plugin I get :)

Fantastic.

What do you mean "just download"? The plugins are not free, are they? What bundle is this part of?

Hi, there. Question for both.

Currently que Cocoa Quicktime plug-ins or declares don't allow anything to be overlaid over the video. I assume that since the library is writing directly to the viewer the app can't write on top of that.

Do either VLC Plugin allow to overlay translucent canvases (or otherwise "paint") on top of the video?

I ask because I currently make a subtitle editor and I'd like to paint the subs on top of the video rather than on a separate window (especially for placement and sizes). I know VLC supports most types of subtitles but changing the subtitle would require reloading the sub and there's not a lot of control on how it's displayed.

You can run our VLC plugin in the mode where you ask it in a timer 30 times a second for current picture, you draw into it and draw it into a canvas.

PS: Also QTKitMovieViewMBS has an event so you can modify image before you get it drawn to screen.

Greetings
Christian

Just downloaded the plugin and tried the sample project...

When trying to run it throws an error saying something like (translated from german ;o)

VlcControl in Window1 implements event "Play" but Superclass VlcControl has the event already implemented.

Never mind....error's gone (o;

But now it tells me that it can't find the "libVLC", although in compiled package the "VLCPlugin.rbx_0.dylib" is included in "Contents/Frameworks" when I show the OSX package content...
