So where do we download this from?
I visit the Google site < http://code.google.com/p/macoslib/ > and the downloads are empty.. The "newest" download in the archive seems to be very out-dated from the code that is browsable on the website..

Let OS X do the work for you.

Launch Terminal. Cut and paste the following line as the start of a commmand
in Terminal. There should be a blank at the end of the line.

svn checkout http://macoslib.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/

Once that is pasted in, drag the folder where the project is to reside from a Finder window
and drop it at the end of the text below. This will enter the path to that folder as the end of the command. When that is done press the Return key to submit the command. You will see a lot of text fly by as the files are being downloaded into the designated folder. When the next command prompt appears in the Terminal window the download is complete so exit Terminal and use the items just downloaded.

NOTE: Make sure that everything is erased from the receiving folder before issuing the command just to be safe. That way everything in the folder will be the lastest copies.

hmm.. seems the download and the svn are both old as well.. if you take a look at the source code on the site there is a bunch more Cocoa classes that are not in download or svn (the one I am mostly after is the NSImage one)..

I don't know why it does that on some machines,
i have downloaded it and ran it several times and everytime it was successful, maybe you can try again.
let me know if you still get the error 1 message.

Are you sure that the author has added NSImage classes to the project? The svn command given earlier, according to his own documentation on the site, should download the LATEST version of macoslib.

Looks like it uses git now instead of svn.. < http://code.google.com/p/macoslib/source/checkout >

git clone https://code.google.com/p/macoslib/

If that is true I have seen no announcement of the change from SVN to GIT. SVN is part of OS X whereas GIT requires additional software so it seems strange that this change would have been made. It would be nice if Charles Yeomans (hope I spelled that correctly) would comment. Not sure he follows these forums as much as he does the NUG Digest. Guess I will be stuck with the last SVN version if that is true.

Just went out for another look at macoslib on Google. At the "Subversion" topic of the Wiki portion it tells you the following:

Get MacOSLib

Subversion is a command-line program, so you should open a Terminal window. Decide on a path at which to put the source code directory. Then enter the following command.

svn checkout http://macoslib.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ /path/to/macoslib

You should end up with the macoslib project in RbVCP format.

I have also seen that line about using GIT but this entry about SVN seems like it should still be the proper way of downloading macoslib. If it isn't then something is very odd indeed!!

Git comes with Xcode. No need for any additional software.

Charles made the announcement in the list: http://www.realsoftware.com/listarchive ... 00418.html

There are very frequent changes:

I have added the feature to indicate what version has been downloaded.
Tested and works on mac OS 10.5.8 and 10.6.7, will try 10.7 later but if anyone has downloaded it on 10.7 please indicate.

The link...

If you'll be putting the compressed file that's freely available in a separate download, doesn't it make sense to put it in a place like Dropbox or CloudApp? A shared folder in dropbox makes better sense, is browseable and has no cruft on the web.

Just saying. I personally think it makes way more sense to just get the git clone.
