All I want is something simple like:

upload(Host, UserID, Password, FileToUpload, [Path])
download(Host, UserID, Password, FileNameToDownload, [Path])

I downloaded the cURL plugin from Monkeybread and everything is deprecated when I try to load their examples projects.

Why does it have to be so complicated to handle those two basic methods?! I don't care if everything freezes until the method is done. I just need a remote location to store basic txt files that a program can access and manipulate. *gah!*

Please ignore them. We need to have deprecated controls in order to keep our examples working with older Real Studio versions.

For the ftp upload, simply look here:
http://www.monkeybreadsoftware.net/exam ... load.shtml

the basic code is less than 20 lines. And a little bit code in the UploadCURL subclass.

Christian

I looked there earlier today... I don't get how that helps me. Where do I enter the Host, UserID, Password etc... I need something simple and easy to upload files like my example methods.

Well, first check the download project and run it.

Host, UserID, Password and all those things are in the URL:

ftp://username:password@server.test/dddd/file.txt

If you like you can use OptionUsername and OptionPassword so the credentials are not part of the URL.

PS: if you like, you can chat with me over AIM, Skype or my website and we discuss that.

Greetings
Christian

For OSX you do not need fancy plugins to use cURL

Search this forum..... somewhere I posted all the syntax necessary to use cURL

Apparently me trying to fix the deprecations before caused the example programs to not be able to launch, I ignored them this time around and got the program to launch.

So for the format
ftp://name:password@domain.com/folder/file

I have some problems

Host: wah.midco.net
Username: BLARG@wah.midco.net
Password: BLEEG

ftp://BLARG@wah.midco.net:BLEEG@wah.mid ... stText.txt

When I try to update it I get a return code of 6 and the file is not updated.

Does it matter that there is an @ in the username?

In case of an @ in the username, you need to use OptionUsername property.

maybe like this:

d.OptionURL="ftp://wah.midco.net/SuperTestText.txt"
d.OptionUsername="BLARG@wah.midco.net"
d.OptionPassword="BLEEG"

Greetings
Christian
