I'd like to convert my VB 6.0 Traver PuzzleBox program to RB. (You can find a subset of that VB 6 program at http://www.planet-source-code.com/vb/scripts/ShowCode.asp?txtCodeId=30015&lngWId=1&txtForceRefresh=1126200510272132514), a four-star program which has received almost 4000 downloads but lacks the sliding-tile puzzle and crossword puzzle features of Traver PuzzleBox).

Here's the problem: I got delayed in bringing (the almost-finished) VB 6 program TPB over to RB because of a hard drive crash and an inability to locate my original VB 6 disks. That major problem has been solved.

The purpose of this note is to find a VB 6 add-on which allowed you to scroll the display with the mouse wheel. I had added it to the VB 6 that I used before, but I now need it again.

Can anyone help? (I think the add-on was freeware.)

Peter,

Thanks! I appreciate that. I may run into a problem that I hadn't thought about before I got your note (in which you mention XP): my computer that crashed was running Windows XP (SP 2), but it was replaced by one running Windows 7. I wonder if FreeWheel will work with Windows 7. (If not, I'll have to search for a computer on which is installed (or on which I can install) Windows XP.

I do own (but have used very little) VB.NET, but I found that to be of very little help, since it lacks downward compatibility. That is, VB 6.0 programs (including my Traver PuzzleBox) don't run in VB.NET (one big reason why I switched from VB to RB).

I googled "VB6 scroll wheel" and found Microsoft's solution.

CodeSmart (a VB6 IDE add-on) has mousewheel support. Funny, I never noticed that the Mousewheel didn't work in the VB6 IDE because I have been using CodeSmart for several years now.
