Ah! Okay, now that makes sense. I thought you were talking about built-in functionality. Knowing that you're using 3rd party classes certainly changes things.

I realize that I could write classes to do parameterized queries (which I started), or find them , but I would like to see RB have that built-in as the other tools I have used (VB, Java, PowerBuilder, PHP 5.1 w/PDO or PHP 4.x-5.0 with PEAR, even Access) already do. My opnion is that the less work the developer has to do, the more productive he can be. For example, PowerBuilder is incredibly easy to make data-centric applications in. You can even embed parameterized SQL directly in code (as opposed to having to build a string and parameter array to pass to some method). Anyways, those are my opinions. To each their own.

The third party classes are irrelevant. The schema/model works without third party classes. I use pgsql4rb because it's so much faster and more reliable than the supplied postgres plugin.

What is relevant is you can create parametised sql within realbasic.
I too think it should be part of the realbasic langauge/ide, but if I waited for that, then I'd still be waiting :-)

Somethings in RealBasic, are, really basic, but the key to RealBasic is the ease (?;-)) with which you can extend the framework/language.
