Roger Meier and Thomas Cunningham have released a new version to their OpenAL project for Mac and Windows. OpenAL (Open Audio Library) is a cross-platform audio API. It is designed for efficient rendering of multichannel three dimensional positional audio. Its API style and conventions deliberately resemble those of OpenGL.

This project includes an encrypted Module and encrypted classes along with three example windows on its usage. Using OpenAL is very common in games, so if you’re working on that Rb killer game app, you can easily add multiple sounds, positioning techniques, adjustments of pitch and gain, record and save WAV files.

The encrypted module is a wrapper of the OAL libraries. An unencrypted module can be purchased for $30 via PayPal. The latest version has been tested on both Carbon and Cocoa (beta) builds for both Apple and Windows platforms.
