I try to design my software projects according to OOP and RB seems to have all the features needed to reach this goal.

But one thing I don't understand:

How can I save objects that I have instantiated in my program to disk?

If you are correctly using the term "objects" to refer to the textfields, buttons, listboxes, etc. within your program, they will all be saved by the IDE and appear just as you left them upon restart. No need to save them yourself.
If you are talking about data, then you will need to write the data to disk yourself using a textoutputstream, binary stream, database or other method. What you choose depends on the type of data being written.
