HI guys,

Looking for some help, manage to upload files/documents to be associated with a product, and the files are saved locally, and the absolutepath is captured.

now, when the product is open for viewing, it should show these associated documents, and looking to have the ability execute these files/pictures.....tried playing around with the folderitem.launch codings. but cant find anything where i can set it to read the previously captured absolutepaths.

Appreciate if anyone could direct me to the proper manner of getting this sorted?

Thanks, and have a great weekend.

This is certainly doable, but can't tell where you problem may be without seeing some code. How are you attempting to launch the files?

Yes, seeing some code would help.

Still, the constructor of the folderitem seems to be what you need to check: http://docs.realsoftware.com/index.php/FolderItem.Constructor(path_as_String,_PathType_as_Integer%3DPathTypeAbsolute)

Hi, really sorry for being absent.....got hospitalized :(.....

either way........roughly the coding for the moment that works...is
**************************************
//on button press action
dim g as FolderItem
g= GetFolderItem("C:\Users\Terreywe\Desktop\New folder\new.jpeg") *this works fine
//g = GetFolderItem("('"+TextField1.text+"')") --This is what we wanted it to do, but getting error
g.launch
**************************************

this works without issues......as we are putting the path in the getfolderitem line....

what we are trying next, is for it to read the path, as it is displayed in a textfield1.text....but it doesnt work, get nilobjectexception.

not so sure if the quotes are killing this....or perhaps something similar.....as the text in textfield1 is : C:\Users\Terreywe\Desktop\New folder\new.jpeg

appreciate any help on this, logically it should work, but perhaps im setting this wrongly...

once again, thanks guys

You're overcomplicating it.

g = GetFolderItem(TextField1.Text)
