Our ListBox Control is similar: http://docs.realsoftware.com/index.php/Listbox

Also, there is a third party solution for grids by Einhugur: http://www.einhugur.com/

I don't think I would consider either of these a data grid. Having worked with Visual Foxpro for a dozen or more years, their data grid (called a grid control) provides for the ability to add different controls (including what RB calls a textfield or a popup menu) in a grid cell thereby providing for robust data entry in a grid. While I really like Rb's listbox control, it comes up way short for data entry/editing since the only usable control in a cell appears to be a checkbox.

Actually you can edit text in a cell using a textField Or TextArea . See Listbox.CellType

While you have to draw the widget yourself, making a dropdown in a cell is not hard using the events and menuitem.popup

The RB listbox is a VERI flexible thing but it takes a bit to master. Once you do, you can do a lot with it. For example I did this by subclassing the listbox:

And the merged cell are editable including the text over the picture.

I hope they don't do away with the current listbox because IMO it's flexibility makes it a very valuable RAD tool. It enables you to do (with work) a lot of things that would be a lot more difficult from scratch in an Xplatform way.

That said it would be nice to have filemaker like list control (from the late 90's - last time i used it) where you could have a scrollable list of container controls that you layout yourself.
