Hi,
I want to create a pdf file in rb and write some text there. Is there any way in rb to achieve this?
I know MonkeyBread Software has plugin for that. But I'm actually looking for some free component.

Suggestion always welcome.

Try the MBS Plug-In. It is free to try, so why not?

I'm going to make a commercial software. If I don't purchase it, it will annoy us with missing license message.
Do you know about any other component?

There are several.

The Fireeye classes worked for me, but the author has desupported them.
Still work though...

And Toby Rush:

If you are writing a commercial application, you expect money for it.
If so, the cost of RB, the cost of your computer, and the cost of an MBS plugin licence all count as expenses against profit...

My suggestion is that if you are building commercial application, you should get the best solution out there so that you not only make it easy for you to develop but you will get very much happier customers.

Since you are making money from selling your application, just consider buying the license as part of the business cost. Normally, it requires you to spend money to make money. I am sure you would recover the investment in a very short time.

Thank you all for your reply.

I gave a try to "Toby Rush" for creating pdf file. That's working fine.

Now I want to save the screenshot of my application window in to a pdf file. for that I wrote...

Dim pBuffer As Picture
Dim gBuffer As Graphics

pBuffer = new Picture(Width, Height, 16)
gBuffer = pBuffer.Graphics

Self.DrawInto gBuffer, 0, 0

Dim b As BinaryStream
Dim p As pdfFile
p = new pdfFile(700, 900)

Try
p.foreColor = &c000000
p.drawPicture pBuffer, 10, 10

b=SpecialFolder.Desktop.child("example.pdf").createBinaryFile("application/pdf")
b.write p.data

b.close
b = Nil

Catch
MsgBox "Somethig goes wrong"
End Try

I got desire picture in pBuffer. When I run it window become not responding. A pdf file "example.pdf" is created but adobe reader unabled to open that.

So, do I made any miske?

Don't know how to use the TobyRush stuff, but looking at your code, Id be trying

p = new pdfFile(700, 900)
Self.DrawInto p, 0, 0
or
Self.DrawInto p.graphics, 0, 0
