I can not see any serious usage of this report feature. Why?
Realbasic should take a look at the report feature of some good software,
but I can tell you what they have to change to make reports worth some cent.
Maybe even more to make it worth a dime.

- Add events to the report like 'BeginPrintingZone(Zone As string)' who fires
before printing a zone and allows us to code some action
- Add variables that we can fill at our wish
- Add automated variables like date, hour, page number.
- Add more zones like CoverPage, First page Header, Next pages header(exists), ToReportZone,
Reported zone, First page footer, next pages footer, last page footer...
- Without such zones the financial reports are not possible.
- Add a 'PrintBodyLine' method. A way to fill the body line by line with own data.
- Add Zone junction. A field who touches the header zone and the footer zone should
span over the entire page.
- Add a property to the Report to add allowed fields with internal and visible name
something like AddAllowedField(Sqlname As string, DisplayName As string)
a similar function should add variables the same way.
I know this seems senseless, but wait, look at the next point.
- Integrate the editor in a container that can be presented to the end user.
This allows the end user of our application to create it's own reports.
He should be able to drag fields to the report and select the data to use in a
popup menu only showing allowed display names.
- Regarding the previous point, allow to save and load reports as files on disk

I take it you've put in a feature request regarding this, rather than just complain in the forum?

I say this, not because I am picking on you, but because most of what you've posted is very good and would improve the usability. Put in the right place, you have more chance of REAL picking it up.

All your points are valid. I agree with Wardy, make sure you add them to the Feedback system.
